Woods MX will be hosting another fine school
on the above dates. Alex and Lewis Woods along with Jade Oates will
be on hand to give you the advice that could make you that bit
faster. Track will reopen on approximately 3pm on these days. Any

I am currently trailing a Weather Station
service for the track. It is updated every 10 minutes and will give

June Committee
Meeting News
A Night Practice session will be held for
Members on Wednesday July the 8th. The track will be closed
until 4pm when gates with open. Riding will commence at 5pm and
conclude at 9pm. All members are welcome. A Fee of $15 per rider
will be charged. Members Only. Any enquiries please call Les on

A Club Day will be held on Sunday August
2nd. After the great success of the last club day, we decided to
add another! Vets will have their own class, so why not have a
crack. You may even see some committee members coming out of
retirement for this one! More the merrier!

preparation crew who did an awesome job preparing the track, it was

Two Round Arena Cross Event!

April Committee
Meeting News.
Meeting was held on Monday night, and once
again some points that members need to know.
Cutting the track is not allowed.
People found doing this will have their membership removed.
Also you are not to enter the track until the amber light has gone
out and only your class light is illuminated. Once again memberships
will be removed if you are not obeying the rules that you signed!
A club day will be held on Sunday the 31st
of May. Entry forms online soon!

Easter Weekend
Twilight Club Day No Longer Going Ahead.
We have had to cancel this event that was in
the calendar. Hoping to have one in the near future though. Please
note this is NOT this weekends Twilight Open. The Twilight
Open will be a huge night on March 21st!

Just a

The track will be closed from Friday the 13th
of March for the WoodsMX coaching school and preparation/running of
the March 21st twilight open. It will reopen Monday 23rd of March.
Working Bee To Be
Held This Sunday, 8th Of March.
The track will be closed this Sunday morning
for maintenance. We all know the condition of the track at the
moment, so lets all get together and help get it back in shape. A
Working bee will start at 9:30am and finish at roughly early
afternoon. Members will then be able to ride. A free sausage sizzle
will be held for all helpers. If you can spare your club some time
this long weekend, please head down and lend a hand, the more
helpers we have the easier job it is for all of us.

New Times For On
The Spot Memberships
You will now be able to get your 2009
Membership on the spot this Sunday the 1st of February between 10am
till 4pm.
The Car Boot Sale will also be running
between 10am and 4pm on the 1st of February also so bring all your
unwanted spare parts and make a dollar!
You will also be able to get your 09
Membership at the track on February 8th between 12pm and 4pm.

be seen here. Please bare in mind that this
can and most likely will be changed as the year progresses.
January Committee
Meeting News.
Few things once again that members need to
know!
-
A club day will be held under lights on
February 14th (Yes Valentines day you lucky ladies!). Remember this
is a 2009 members only event, not an open. More information
on this in the near future. Membership cards must be shown at
sign in.
-
2008 members remember you will not be able to
get access to the track on or after February 1st unless you have a
2009 membership. Our Membership Secretary will be at the track from
10am until 4pm on February 1st for anyone wanting to become an 09
member on the day.
-
There will be a CAR BOOT SALE at the
track also from 12pm on February 1st, so if you have any unwanted
bike parts bring them along and make some money out of them!
-
Sponsorship fencing in still available.
Signage on the side of the track is only $150 or the larger signage
above the tower and start gates. Please remember all sponsorship is
reviewed on June 30. If you are interested contact Cameron on
0416296456.

We still need help with working bee's and on
race days. If you are able to help it would be great to see you
get involved!

Get your 2009
Memberships at the track, same day!
Our Membership Secretary will be at the track
on the following days from 1pm - 4pm. This means you will be able to
get your Membership on that day, just turn up with your Membership
fee (cash or cheque) and a passport photo. The dates are as follows
:
January 1st, January 4th, January 11th,
January 18th, January 25th and February 1st. Please remember this is
only between 1pm and 4 pm.

Twilight meeting a
huge success.
The Twilight meeting hosted on Saturday the
20th of December was a huge success. Over 250 riders raced under
lights and a huge amount of spectators were there to watch the
action. Some great racing was presented, with the highlight being
the Pro Lites battles with Lewis Woods and Mark Grove. Pictures of
the night are still coming in and will be posted shortly. If you
have any please not not hesitate to e-mail
them to me.
Our thoughts are with Billy Closter who had
quite a large get-off in the afternoons racings. Reports are that
Billy will make a full recovery but he is going to be very sore for
a few weeks. If anyone has any images or videos of the incident
please email them to me. For those not
aware Billy's, (piloting his KTM 65) throttle "locked on" coming
down the main strait, sending him a huge 65ft over the first corner
berm and into the side of the School Lane step down.
A Quicksilver wallet was found with a small
amount of cash inside and a student card from Gisborne Secondary
Collage. If this is yours please contact me.
It is in safe hands!
A BIG thankyou to all the sponsors of the
event, without them the event could not have happened. Please
support the people that support your club!
It was a fantastic meeting and the committee
would like to thank all riders and spectators. We will be back
bigger and better than ever!

Choice suspension will be out at BMMXC on the
15th, 16th and 17th of January 2009. A great opportunity to get your
suspension moving great on the track.

The Water Pumps
Have Come Out Of The Shed
I think this picture explains all. 67mm of
rainfall has fallen at the track in the past 48 hours, and this has
put us in an awesome position for this Saturdays twilight meeting.
Make sure you are there...it will be like a market garden!
No Riding After
8pm
Just a reminder to all members that there is
to be no riding at the track after 8pm. We have neighbours and it
would only take one person to ruin our relationship with them!

Action!
Last night was a big night for BMMXC as the
permanent lighting towers were turned on the the first time. The
committee sat and watched as the sun set and the track was lit up.
The lights work fantastically, lighting up the entire track with no
dark spots and a very bright but not glary light. The light towers
will be first viewable by the public on Saturday the 20th of
December for our twilight meeting, so weather you are a racer or
just someone who loves the sport, make sure you are there!

Upcoming Track
Closure
The track will be closed from November the
23rd until December 1st. This is for the running/preperation for the
club championships. We want to get the track into top condition
before the two day event, so why not lend a hand over these days if
you can.
New Sponsorship
Fencing!
New fencing on the front of the track has been
put up. This will allow us to give our sponsors more area to
advertise if they wish, greatly helping the club. Some images are

First Stages Of
Permanent Lighting Underway.
Yes the rumours are true, BMMXC will soon have
permanent lighting at the track for twilight meetings and possible
night practice sessions. Five light towers have been ordered and
should arrive in 4 - 6 weeks. Foundations went in on Saturday
morning, 3.5 meters into the ground. Stay tuned!

Twilight Meeting
Now To Be Run In January.
The proposed Twilight Meeting on December 13
will no longer go ahead due to unforseen circumstances. The meeting
will now most likely be held mid January 2009. Stay tuned for more
info!

Committee Meeting Information.
A Committee meeting was held on Monday night
and once again there are a couple of issues members need to be aware
of.
-
The track will be closed on both Friday the
26th and Saturday the 27th of September for preparation for the
September 28th club day.
-
The 2008 BMMXC club championships will now run
on the 29th and 30th of November.
-
Confusion with the lighting system was
discussed. Honda CRF150R's need to ride in the under 100cc category
(red light) as they race in the 85cc class. This is just not for the
CRF150's but most four strokes under 200cc. Your category depends on
what class you race/would race in. The lighting sign will be
modified to avoid confusion.

Theft at Club Day.
Unfortunately at the BMMXC club day hosted on
the 20th of July a Transponder and a Computer was stolen from the
front seat of a car. Please all members be aware, and please keep
your car locked. It is unfortunate that there are some low lives
like this around

News From Recent
Committee Meeting
A Committee meeting was held on 09/06 and
there are some issues that members need to be aware of.
-
It has come to the attention of the Committee
that some members have signed up for for a membership as a family,
where in fact they are not. Please remember a Family membership is
for Mothers, Fathers and Immediate children only, not friends. The
matter is being investigated. Membership ID checks will now happen
more frequently by committee members and a copy of another form of
identification such as a drivers licence may also be requested.
-
A reminder to all members that BMMXC has a "No
Hassle" policy. Members must conduct themselves in a manner non
offensive and respect other members of the track.
-
Due to increased riders at the track on
weekends the lighting system MUST BE OBEYED on Saturdays, Sundays
and Public Holidays. The "Obey Lights" sign will now always be shown
on these days. This is for YOUR safety.

Two BMMXC members are in the process of
raising funds for a trip to America to race the World Veterans
